Trees & Planning

Within the planning process, trees are considered a 'material consideration', therefore the Local Authority may request arboricultural guidance to avoid potential damage from construction activities.

BS5837 Survey & Reports

Here's the path to planning success...

01 - Engage

  • We have a conversation to establish the brief

  • Your aspirations

  • Your timescales

03 - Constraints & Opportunities

  • Using technical drawings, we highlight issues which may impact planning approval.

  • We recommend solutions and opportunities for mitigation.

02 - Tree Survey

  • We undertake a British Standard 5837:2012 Tree Survey to assess tree health and quality

  • Record details in table form

  • Illustrate survey results on a plan using AutoCAD.

04 - Report Delivery

Once the design has been finalised, we:

  • Illustrate and provide commentary on constraints to trees and the design

  • Finalise the Arboricultural Impact Assessment

  • Produce a draft tree Protection Plan

Good to know...

We focus on providing honest, early advice to increase your chance of planning success. We're a key player on the design team, creating solutions that keep important trees safe and sound during the development process.
